When we started Sorry For The Wake Podcast, it wasn’t just about wakesurfing, or really about wakesurfing at all. Sure, we take riders out on the boat, toss them on the wake, and capture the good, the messy, and the “did-that-just-happen?” moments. But more than that, it’s about the people. Their journeys, their weird obsessions, their little sparks of genius, and yes, occasionally their questionable life choices.
So far, we’ve dropped five episodes, each one a different ride:
Episode 1: Daniel Hensley – Keg Creek Boardshop, Evans, Georgia Daniel didn’t just open a board shop. He built it off his dock, literally. Rain Clothing Co gear in hand, he turned deliveries into a full-blown brick-and-mortar dream. Wakeboards, skimboards, tubes, wakesurf boards, one-wheels, fishing kayaks—basically anything that gets you wet, Daniel’s got you covered. His story is a reminder that sometimes the dock is the best office you’ll ever have.
Episode 2: Sterling Myers – Pro Skimboarder Sterling started on a whim, a gift from his mom’s friend. He was nine when he stepped on his first board, and over a decade later, skimboarding has taken him everywhere. What sticks about Sterling isn’t just his skills on the board, it’s the people he meets and the places he goes. He’s chasing community as much as he’s chasing waves.
Episode 3: Brent & Carly – Ridgeside K9, Tampa, Florida From Virginia to Florida, Brent and Carly built a dog training empire with 16 locations. They started in 2022, and now they’re showing what hustle and heart look like in the canine world. There’s discipline, there’s passion, and yes, sometimes there’s a little chaos when the dogs are in charge.
Episode 4: Hogan Ramos – Lead Pastry Chef, Lilac, Tampa Hogan and Allison go way back, sharing wakeboarding memories and the kind of friendship that survives years and Michelin-star kitchens. Hogan’s desserts are deceptively simple on the surface, but one bite, and your taste buds realize they’ve been tricked into experiencing something insane. That’s wakeboarding meets fine dining, right there.
Episode 5: Robert McClelland – Pro Wakesurfer Robert’s dad bought him a boat to “make him go outside and not be a nerd.” Fast forward five years to pro wakesurfing status. Now he works at Nautique Orlando, because apparently, being a pro wakesurfer doesn’t exactly pay the bills. But watching him ride is worth every second; there’s joy, grit, and a little bit of mischief in every carve.
The premise is simple: we take people on the boat, we vlog, we talk, and we ride. Some are pros, some are just getting started. Some are skating into the sunset, some are making desserts that melt your brain. But every episode is about connecting, learning, laughing, and maybe falling in the water once or twice.
So if you’re looking for a podcast that’s as much about life as it is about wakesurfing, or someone’s dog training empire, or Michelin-starred desserts, or skimboard adventures, strap in. We’ll make sure it’s a ride you won’t forget
